A series of screenings curated by Elio Della Noce (researcher in film studies) & Emmanuel Lefrant (Light Cone).

As part of its ongoing commitment to contemporary cinematographic creation, Light Cone proposes a program featuring films that have recently entered the collection, all made between 2022 and 2024. The program is representative of the diversity of Light Cone's catalogue, mixing works inspired by the Structural movement and others closer to documentary cinema, found footage and animation, film and video as the case may be, and includes films from the principal centers of experimental cinema produ

This program is based on a dialogue between two Barcelona-based artists whose works have recently entered Light Cone’s collection. It will culminate in a cinematographic performance they have conceived together.

Light Cone presents the 11th edition of Scratch Expanded at Les Voûtes (Paris 13th), a biennial event dedicated to expanded cinema – a cinematic form that breaks free from traditional theatrical projection, bringing together various moving image practices such as multi-screen projection, performance, and installation.

Katerina Thomadaki (for her work with Maria Klonaris) and Laura Huertas have been awarded the two 2024 AWARE prizes, attributed to women artists linked to the French art scene.

Amy Halpern (1953-2022) occupies a singular place in the history of American experimental cinema. She was a key figure who took part in many legendary film shoots and artistic projects, a tireless organizer who co-founded or directed several filmmakers’ associations, and, at the same time, an original and prolific filmmaker in her own right, whose works remained, until very recently, in the shadow of her contemporaries.

This program focuses on five American artists who developed eclectic practices devoted to abstraction, inspired by diverse references including hard-edge abstract painting, cellular formations, optical/neural connections, and Islamic geometrical patterns.
