David Lebrun attended Reed College and UCLA film school. He has made dozens of films over 58 years.
His 1960s work included experimental documentaries on the mushroom ceremony of the Mazatec Indians and the cross-country journey of The Hog Farm commune. He was a founder of the multimedia group Single Wing Turquoise Bird.
Through Night Fire Films he has produced numerous shorts and 3 feature films, as well as work for installation. His films have won many international festival awards.
